Narla is a growing team of experienced flora and fauna ecologists with offices in Sydney, the Hunter Valley, and the South Coast of NSW. Our mobile team allows us to deliver high-quality ecological services across a wide range of locations, efficiently and within diverse project budgets and timeframes.
Our staff are skilled across all areas of environmental management and planning, including fauna assessments, vegetation identification, targeted flora and fauna surveys, and GIS mapping. Together, we have delivered over 1,000 ecological assessments across NSW, many for public authorities on public lands.
We follow strict internal quality control procedures to ensure all ecological advice, mapping, and reporting is accurate, consistent, and delivered to a high professional standard.

Rooted in Country
The name Narla comes from a word used by one of Australia’s Aboriginal nations to describe red gum trees. Red Gums are iconic Australian species, recognised for their resilience, longevity, and strong connection to the landscapes in which they grow.
Many species of Red Gum are found throughout the areas in which we work, including the Forest Red Gum (Eucalyptus tereticornis), Parramatta Red Gum (Eucalyptus parramattensis), and the sculptural Sydney Red Gum (Angophora costata).
These species reflect the environments we operate in and the values that underpin our work, connection to place, adaptability, and respect for Australia’s natural landscapes.
